SUPPORT NEW JERSEY’S PRESCHOOL PLAN

THE ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDREN OF NEW JERSEY NEEDS YOU!

ACNJ is launching a campaign to make quality preschool programs available to more children. Right now, New Jersey’s four year olds cannot attend a quality public preschool unless they live in certain districts, yet many more parents need and want these programs so their children can start school ready and eager to learn.

The Early Launch to Learning Initiative (ELLI), put forward by Governor McGreevey in the FY 2005 budget, could add preschool programs for 20,000 more four year olds by September 2004 if the legislature supports this new $15 million proposal.

Join Us! ACNJ will bring you up to speed on preschool facts, both the research that points out the benefits of these programs and the details of the Governor’s proposal. We will contact you with specific requests for help over the next three months. This might mean a phone call, a short letter, or a visit with leaders or other advocates in your own community. We will provide you with talking points to guide your calls, letters and conversations. And, we will keep you up to date on the developments in Trenton as ELLI makes its way through the legislature.

Sign up! You have a lot to give and generations of New Jersey’s children will benefit. Fill out this form. OR call Nancy Sconyers at 973-643-9153.
